حب الحياة من الجنون

حب الحياة من الجنون

أو ليس آخرها المنون

أو ليس آخرها المنون

Love of life is madness.

And is not death its end?

من عاش فيها ساعة

من عاش فيها ساعة

فكمن يعمرها قرون

فكمن يعمرها قرون

Whoever lives in it for an hour

is like one who dwells in it for centuries.

انظر لماضيك الذي

انظر لماضيك الذي

حسبت عليك به السنون

حسبت عليك به السنون

Look at your past, in which

the years were reckoned against you.

لم تدر كيف قضيته

لم تدر كيف قضيته

وكذاك شأنك كل حين

وكذاك شأنك كل حين

You do not know how you spent it,

and so it is with you at every moment.

الدهر كله لحظة

الدهر كله لحظة

ما كان منه وما يكون

ما كان منه وما يكون

All of time is a single moment—

what has passed of it and what is yet to come.

طوبى لمتبع الهدى

طوبى لمتبع الهدى

ما أهلكته بها الظنون

ما أهلكته بها الظنون

Blessed is the follower of guidance,

whom doubts have not ruined in this life.

عاش المسلم أمره

عاش المسلم أمره

طبق الذي أوصى الأمين

طبق الذي أوصى الأمين

He who surrenders his affairs lives

in accordance with what the Trustworthy One enjoined.

صلى الإله عليه ما

صلى الإله عليه ما

صلت عليه المومنون

صلت عليه المومنون

May God send blessings upon him as long as

the believers invoke blessings upon him,

وعلى صحابته الكرا

وعلى صحابته الكرا

م وآله والمسلمين

م وآله والمسلمين

and upon his noble Companions,

and his family and the Muslims.
