مذ عانقته براحتين وساعد
Everyone wished to resemble her oud,
Every wish that it resemble its return
Since she embraced it with two palms and a forearm.
Since I embraced it with my palms and arms

ولرب ألف لا تقاس بواحد
She singled it out from all those present for favor,
I singled it out from those present with affection
And many a thousand cannot compare with a single one.
And for perhaps a thousand that cannot be measured by one

And keep your place, obedient to the full-breasted maiden.
And keep your place obedient to the passionate one
