Do you accompany the beautiful cheeks and claim

Love for the one who gave you the best position?

Love and frivolity in one sighing man?
He yearns and laments in his passion as one
A strange thing for the ear to hear.
A strange matter that fell on the hearing

It has become clear that you have no love when
you accompanied them, for one in love does not deceive.
You accompanied them, so the passionate one was not fooled

ليست غذن معها الخصومة بل معي
I have stood to champion the maiden's rights;
You stood up for the girl as a fighter
the quarrel, then, is not with her, but with me.
The dispute is not with her but with me

Or have you not secluded yourself for months for your love
composing what I recount of you and what I know,
In composing what I convey about you and what I grasp

For it falling into poetry in the best place

My composition about her and for her reached
my verse about her—and she is pointed out with a finger.
Two hundred and fifty, pointed at with a finger

In vain, honesty in it was not heeded

Give up your claim of love: you are no lover.
Leave your claim of love, you are no lover
Do you keep company with fair maidens and claim
Do you accompany the beautiful cheeks and claim
