Be silent, and say: this is the fate

for the unfortunate in their misfortune

واتركه في ذاك السبا

ت ولا تكن من موقظيه

ت ولا تكن من موقظيه

And leave him in that

And leave him in that slumber

slumber, and do not be among those who wake him.

and do not be among those who wake him

لا حق للمستضعفي

لا حق للمستضعفي

ن ولا نصير لطالبيه

ن ولا نصير لطالبيه

There is no right for the oppressed,

The weak have no rights

nor any champion for those who demand it.

and no helper for those who seek them

وانس الكلام وسامعي

وانس الكلام وسامعي

ه فلا سبيل لقائليه

ه فلا سبيل لقائليه

And forget speech and those who hear

Forget the talk and those who hear it

it, for there is no path for those who utter it.

for there is no way to reach its speaker

إن السكوت من اللجي

إن السكوت من اللجي

ن وهكذا صنع الفقيه

ن وهكذا صنع الفقيه

Indeed, silence is made of

Silence is best for the prudent

silver; and thus the jurist acted.

and so the scholar acted

إياك والاصداع باس

إياك والاصداع باس

م الحق واخذل ناصريه

م الحق واخذل ناصريه

Beware of speaking out in the

Beware of hurting yourself in the name

name of truth, and forsake its supporters.

واكنز مع المثرين ما

لك وادخره لوارثيه

لك وادخره لوارثيه

And hoard with the wealthy your

Hoard with the wealthy what you own

wealth, and save it for those who inherit it.

and save it for your heirs
