بعث الحبيب بصورة

تنبي على صدق الوداد

The beloved sent a portrait,

Attesting to the sincerity of affection.

لولا نظيرتها التي

نقشت على هذا الفؤاد

Were it not for its counterpart, which

Was engraved upon this heart,

لرأيت حكمي باستحا

لة مثلها عين السداد

You would find my judgment of the impossi-

bility of its equal perfectly sound.

فاللّه يسعد ربّها الساعي

لإسعاد البلاد

So may God grant happiness to its master, who strives

To bring happiness to the country.
