عما حواه العالم

The gaze of Adam’s son falls short

The perception of Adam's son falls short

of all the world contains;

of what the world contains;

وهو الجهول بكنهه

وهو الجهول بكنهه

ويظن أنه عالم

ويظن أنه عالم

profoundly ignorant of its essence,

and he is utterly ignorant of its essence,

he nevertheless thinks himself learned.

yet thinks that he is learned.
