بحرa sea تلاطمcrashed together موجهits waves متدفّقاpouring forth
بحر تلاطم موجه متدفّقا
بالشعرwith poetry يزأرhe roars زأرةa roar الآسادof lions
بالشعر يزأر زأرة الآساد
A sea whose waves crash together, pouring forth,
A sea surging with waves flowing
With poetry he roars the roar of lions.
With poetry it roars a lion's roar
يهديhe offers إلىto الآدابliterature كلevery نفيسةprecious thing
يهدي إلى الآداب كل نفيسة
ولذاكand for that reason سميhe was called بينناamong us بالهاديas al-Hadi (the Guide)
ولذاك سمي بيننا بالهادي
He offers literature every precious thing,
It gifts every precious jewel to literature
And so among us he is called al-Hadi.
And so it's named amongst us as the guide
