How wondrous, by God, is the one whose swaying has captured my heart!
And how often his stripping himself of it has stirred my longing!

فقلت مستنجدا بيتا أردده

So, seeking help, I recited a verse I keep repeating:
I see the wrap on Layla, and so I envy it;
إنindeed الإزارthe waist-wrap علىfor ماwhat ضمit enfolded محسودenvied
إن الإزار على ما ضم محسود
Indeed, the wrap is envied for what it enfolds.
