O Su'd, how do you think I can sober up, when my drunkenness
O Sa'd, how can I wake up while intoxicated
comes from the cup of your glance, not cups of wine?
By the wine of your glance, ceaselessly drunk

How can I survive when I am struck
poisoned—may my soul ransom the archer!
By poisoned arrows, my soul a sacrifice to the archer
