أحيا الجزائر بالعرفان فانتعشت

أحيا الجزائر بالعرفان فانتعشت

وذاد عن حقها بالعزم والباس

وذاد عن حقها بالعزم والباس

He revived Algeria through knowledge, and it regained its vigor,

He revived Algeria with wisdom so it flourished

He revived Algeria through knowledge, so it flourished,

And defended its right with resolve and valor.

And defended its rights with determination and courage

And defended its rights with resolve and might.

وود من شعبه أن يستجيب له

ويستنير من الذكرى بمقباس

And he wished his people to respond to him,

And draw light from the reminder with a torch.

فكن له سامعا إن رمت منزلة

رفيعة القدر عند الله والناس

So heed him if you seek a station

So listen to him if you aspire to a station

So heed his words if you aspire to a station

Of high esteem before God and humankind.

Noble in worth with God and all people

Of high standing before God and among people.
