Teach it a tolerant religion from God,
Enchanting, as if they are tunes
Teach it a religion from God, tolerant,
with neither burden nor compulsion in it,
Eternal, impervious to extinction
Containing no burden and no compulsion.

spread among humankind by a trustworthy Messenger,
Arabic, flawless in its composition
Disseminated among mankind by a trustworthy Messenger,
a deliverer of humankind, compassionate and resolute.
Sound for studying like marble
A savior for mankind, compassionate, gallant.

He came while people were in error and deviation,
Its splendors appeared while still raw
He came while people were in error and deviation,
then guided them to his path, and they walked aright.
Dazzling the meadows with eloquence
He guided them to His path, so they became upright.

مطربات كأنها أنغام
And teach it a language whose letters are tones,
While tents vanished over the palaces
And teach a language whose letters are tones,
enchanting, like melodies;
And guard your right for it has been marked for pillage
Delightful as if they were melodies.

everlasting, untouched by extinction,
Do not sleep regarding your right, do not sleep
Eternal, decay does not afflict it,
Arabic, unmixed with foreign speech;
Direct the face of your people to noble goals
Arabic, which no foreignness has mixed with.

suited for study among languages, like gold
They are its objectives and we are the arrows
Valid among languages for study like gold,
whose nuggets gleam though it is unrefined.
And make religion the leader and imam
Its nuggets shine while it is raw ore.

With eloquent Arabic, deserts vied with the gardens' splendor,
Nothing leads like religion leads
The deserts boasted of the ornament of gardens through the Fusha,
and tents vaunted themselves above palaces.
Everything the son of Adam institutes perishes
And the tents prided themselves over the palaces.

لا تناموا عن حقكم لا تناموا
Guard your rights, for they have been exposed to plunder;
While what God institutes endures
And guard your right, for it has been sought for looting,
do not sleep heedless of your rights—do not sleep!
The foundations of disbelief will surely collapse
Do not sleep regarding your right, do not sleep.

Turn your people's face toward lofty aims,
Ephemeral, while Islam eternalizes!
Direct the face of your people toward the heights,
for those are their targets, and we are the arrows.
For they are the targets and we are the arrows.

Make religion a guide and a leader;
And make religion a pioneer and a leader,
no guide or leader is like religion.
There is no pioneer or leader like religion.

Everything that the son of Adam legislates perishes,
but what God legislates endures forever.
And for what God legislates is permanence.

Perishing, and Islam will remain immortal!
