وبخلقه أتخلق

I am devoted to Muhammad.

I hold fast to Muhammad,

To Muhammad I am attached,

And I model my character on his.

And with his character I adorn myself,

And his character I adopt as my own,

وعلى البنين جميعهم

وعلى البنين جميعهم

في حبه اتفوق

في حبه اتفوق

And above all the boys,

And over all people

And above all other youths,

I excel in love for him.

In love for him I prevail.

I excel in my love for him.

نفسي الفتية دائما

نفسي الفتية دائما

من حبه تتحرق

من حبه تتحرق

My youthful soul is always

My soul, young forever,

My youthful soul is constantly,

Ablaze with love for him.

Is always aflame with love for him,

Burning with love for him.

وجوانحي مهتاجة

وجوانحي مهتاجة

ومدامعي تترقرق

ومدامعي تترقرق

And my breast is in turmoil,

And my heart is impassioned,

My inner being is stirred,

And my tears well up.

My tears flowing.

And my tears flow freely.

مالي وللعب التي

مالي وللعب التي

تختار لي وتنسق

تختار لي وتنسق

What have I to do with the toys

What care have I for the games

What have I to do with the games that

Chosen and arranged for me?

That choose for me and arrange,

Are chosen and arranged for me?

ان التعلق بالرسو

ل ودينه بي أليق

ل ودينه بي أليق

Indeed, devotion to the Messenger

When holding fast to the Messenger

Indeed, attachment to the Messenger

And his religion befits me more.

And his religion suits me more?

And his religion is more befitting of me.

أنا مسلم أهوى الهدى

أنا مسلم أهوى الهدى

بسواه لا أتحقق

بسواه لا أتحقق

I am a Muslim; I love guidance.

I am a Muslim who loves guidance,

I am a Muslim who loves guidance;

Through anything else I find no fulfillment.

With none other do I become fulfilled.

Through nothing else do I find my true self.

بخلال أحمد أرتدي

بخلال أحمد أرتدي

وبحبه أتمنطق

وبحبه أتمنطق

I clothe myself in Ahmad's virtues.

With the traits of Ahmed I clothe myself,

I clothe myself in the virtues of Ahmad,

And gird myself with love for him.

And with love for him I strengthen myself.

And with his love I gird myself.

في مثل هذا الشهر لا

في مثل هذا الشهر لا

ح كبدره يتألق

ح كبدره يتألق

In a month like this, he appeared,

In a month like this, no

In a month like this, there appeared

Resplendent as its full moon.

Sorrows can tarnish its radiance.

One shining like his full moon.

اليوم ألسنة العوا

اليوم ألسنة العوا

لم بالبشائر تطلق

لم بالبشائر تطلق

Today the tongues of the worlds

Today tongues of the world

Today, the tongues of all realms

Are loosed with glad tidings.

Announce the good tidings.

Are unleashed with glad tidings.

فعلى الوجود نضارة

فعلى الوجود نضارة

ملء العيون ورونق

ملء العيون ورونق

So fresh beauty clothes all existence,

So freshness fills existence,

So upon all existence rests a freshness,

And splendor fills the eyes.

Eyes brim and glow.

Filling the eyes with splendor.

لا يوم أشرف فيه من

لا يوم أشرف فيه من

يوم الرسول وأسرق

يوم الرسول وأسرق

No day in it is nobler than

No day nobler than the one

There is no day therein more honorable

The Messenger's day, or brighter [reading uncertain].

Of the Messenger's night journey.

Than the Prophet's day, nor more radiant.

أهلا بشهر بالقلو

أهلا بشهر بالقلو

ب وبالنواظر يرمق

ب وبالنواظر يرمق

Welcome to a month that hearts

Greetings to the month that

Welcome to a month that by hearts

And eyes gaze upon.

Captivates hearts and dazzles sights.

And eyes is gazed upon with longing.

أنا منذ غبت اليك من

أنا منذ غبت اليك من

حرالهوى أتشوق

حرالهوى أتشوق

Ever since you went away, for you

Since I've been absent from you

Ever since you departed, I yearn for you

I yearn with the heat of love.

I've pined from the fever of passion.

With the burning heat of love.

I know the Prophet Muhammad

The fragrance of Prophet Muhammad

Is smelled and inhaled from you.

Is insulted by you and torn apart.

Is sensed and inhaled from you.

ما زلت فيه ولن أزا

ما زلت فيه ولن أزا

ل بعهده أتوثق

ل بعهده أتوثق

In it I have not ceased, and never shall cease,

I still love him and will never

I remain within it, and I shall never cease

To hold fast to his covenant.

Break my covenant to him.

To hold firmly to his covenant.

يا خير من تعنى اليـ

يا خير من تعنى اليـ

ـه الهاديات وتعنق

ـه الهاديات وتعنق

O best of those toward whom

O best of those whose care

O best of those towards whom the guided mounts

The leading mounts toil and hasten,

The rightly guided vie for and embrace.

Are wearied as they rush forward.

ذكراك أسمى ذكريا

ذكراك أسمى ذكريا

ت الخالدين وأسمق

ت الخالدين وأسمق

Your remembrance is the loftiest of the memories

Your remembrance is the highest

Your remembrance is the most sublime memory

Of the immortals, and the most towering.

Of the eternal remembrances I treasure.

Of the immortals, and the most lofty.

أنا أسرع الفتيان في

أنا أسرع الفتيان في

ما ترتضيه وأسبق

ما ترتضيه وأسبق

I am the swiftest of youths in

I am the quickest of the youths

I am the swiftest of youths in pursuing

What you approve, and the foremost.

In what you approve and precede in.

That which pleases you, and the foremost.

جنديك الغازي بأمـ

جنديك الغازي بأمـ

ـرك يوم يغزو الفيلق

ـرك يوم يغزو الفيلق

Your soldier, campaigning at

Your soldier who raids by your command

I am your soldier, campaigning by your command

Your command, when the legion goes to war.

The day your regiments march forth.

On the day the legion marches to war.

قسما بربك إنني

قسما بربك إنني

من غيره لا أفرق

من غيره لا أفرق

I swear by your Lord that I

I swear by your Lord I

I swear by your Lord that I

Fear none but Him.

Will never distinguish between Him and another.

Fear no one other than Him.

اني على البيضاء معـ

اني على البيضاء معـ

ـتدل الخطا لا أزلق

ـتدل الخطا لا أزلق

Indeed, on the white path I am

I am steadfast upon the clear path

I walk upon the clear white path

Steady in step; I do not slip.

Not slipping or straying.

With steady steps, and I do not slip.

لا أنثنى عنها ولو

لا أنثنى عنها ولو

أصلى الجحيم وأشنق

أصلى الجحيم وأشنق

I shall not turn away from it, even if

I will not divert from it even if

I will not turn away from it, even if

I burn in Hell and am hanged.

I must enter Hell and be hanged.

I am cast into hellfire or hanged.

هي ملة يمحى بها

هي ملة يمحى بها

ريب القلوب ويمحق

ريب القلوب ويمحق

It is a faith that erases

It is the religion that effaces

It is a faith by which the doubt of hearts

The doubts of hearts and annihilates them.

Doubts of hearts and overcomes them.

Is erased and utterly crushed.

والعقل منها بالعلو

والعقل منها بالعلو

م وبالمعارف يرزق

م وبالمعارف يرزق

And through it the mind, with sciences

The mind from it gains

Through it, the intellect is nourished

And knowledge, is nourished.

Knowledge and is provided understanding.

With sciences and deep knowledge.

أنفقت وقتي في هدى

أنفقت وقتي في هدى

فيه النفائس تنفق

فيه النفائس تنفق

I have spent my time in guidance

I spent my time in its guidance

I have spent my time in a guidance

On which precious treasures are spent.

Wherein the finest gems are spent.

For which all precious things are spent.

أتذوق القرآن قو

أتذوق القرآن قو

ت الروح ما أتذوق

ت الروح ما أتذوق

I savor the Quran—the nourishment

I taste the Quran, the spirit's

I savor the Quran, the nourishment

Of the soul is what I savor.

Power ― what a taste I taste!

Of the soul, in all that I taste.

أتلو الكتاب مصدقا

أتلو الكتاب مصدقا

إن الكتاب مصدق

إن الكتاب مصدق

I recite the Book, believing in it;

I recite the Book as true,

I recite the Book, affirming its truth,

Indeed, the Book is worthy of belief.

The Book indeed is true.

For the Book is indeed the truth confirmed.

لا سفر أعمر منه في

لا سفر أعمر منه في

شتى العلوم وأعمق

شتى العلوم وأعمق

No volume is richer than it in

No journey is richer than it

No volume is more populated with

The various sciences, or deeper.

In diverse knowledges and deeper.

Diverse sciences, nor more profound.

لم لا أزاول درسه

لم لا أزاول درسه

وأنا اللبيب الأحذق؟

وأنا اللبيب الأحذق؟

Why should I not pursue its study,

Why wouldn't I persist in its study

Why should I not pursue its study

When I am discerning and most adept?

When I am keen and clever?

When I am intelligent and astute?

يا قائدا في الحرب صـ

يا قائدا في الحرب صـ

ـف جنوده لا يخرق

ـف جنوده لا يخرق

O commander in war, the line

O leader in war, line up his troops

O commander in war, whose rank

Of whose soldiers is never breached,

That cannot be penetrated.

Of soldiers can never be breached.

لي أسوة بك في دفا

لي أسوة بك في دفا

عك يوم خط الخندق

عك يوم خط الخندق

In you I have an example, in

I have an example in you, in your defense

I have a model in you, in your defense

Your defense when the trench was laid out.

The day the trench was dug,

On the day the Trench was dug.

والصحب بالأحزاب تغـ

والصحب بالأحزاب تغـ

ـزى والمدينة تحدق

ـزى والمدينة تحدق

While the Companions were attacked by the confederates,

And the confederates attacked, besieging Medina,

When the Companions were attacked by the Confederates,

And the city was encircled,

You were still reinforced from the heavens and supported

And Medina was encircled.

ما زلت ترفد بالمدو

ما زلت ترفد بالمدو

د من السماء وترفق

د من السماء وترفق

You kept receiving reinforcements

Until you saw the people defeated,

You continued to receive reinforcements

From heaven, and were treated kindly,

Their multitude routed and torn apart.

From the heavens, and divine support.

حتى رأيت القوم يهـ

حتى رأيت القوم يهـ

ـزم جمعهم ويمزق

ـزم جمعهم ويمزق

Until you saw those people,

O people who populate the prophet’s fragrant lands,

Until you saw the enemy host

Their host defeated and torn apart.

Over your lands his call is announced.

Defeated and torn asunder.

يا شعب أنداء الربيـ

يا شعب أنداء الربيـ

ـع على ربوعك تهرق

ـع على ربوعك تهرق

O people, the dews of spring

The lily adorned by him

O Nation, upon whom the dews of spring

Are poured over your lands.

His robes surrounding it and the hyacinth.

Are poured over your dwellings.

السوسن التحفت به

السوسن التحفت به

أكنافها والزنبق

أكنافها والزنبق

In irises are mantled

I am a flower blossoming in it

Wrapped in the iris

Their borders, and in lilies.

Free and primping.

And the lily on every side.

أنا زهرة فيها تنمـ

أنا زهرة فيها تنمـ

ـى حرة وتنمق

ـى حرة وتنمق

I am a flower there, nurtured

I am a fresh fountain wherein is watered

I am a flower growing within it,

In freedom and adorned.

The breast of the enemy, aimed at and splashed.

Free and beautifully adorned.

أنا نبعة يرعى بها

أنا نبعة يرعى بها

صدر العدو ويرشق

صدر العدو ويرشق

I am a shoot of bow-wood, with which

I am a sword in the face of one

I am a tough bow-wood branch by which

The enemy's breast is kept in sight and struck with arrows.

Who intends to swallow you and masticate.

The enemy's chest is targeted and pierced.

أنا صارم في وجه من

أنا صارم في وجه من

ينوي ابتلاعك يمشق

ينوي ابتلاعك يمشق

I am a sharp sword in the face of anyone

Indeed whoever desires your destruction

I am a sharp sword, drawn against the face

Who intends to swallow you—unsheathed.

Apart from you is a fool!

Of whoever intends to swallow you whole.

إن الذي يبغي (اندما

إن الذي يبغي (اندما

جك) في سواك لأحمق!

جك) في سواك لأحمق!

Indeed, whoever seeks to merge

A people cannot be blotted out

Indeed, whoever seeks your assimilation

You into others is a fool!

When girded by the prophets miracles.

Into another is truly a fool!

لا ينمحى شعب بشا

لا ينمحى شعب بشا

رات الرسول مطوق

رات الرسول مطوق

No people can be effaced when encircled

Do not fear destruction, for you

A people encircled by the Messenger's

By the Messenger's glad tidings.

By His promise will not be destroyed.

Glad tidings shall never be erased.

لا تخش إيباقا فأنـ

لا تخش إيباقا فأنـ

ـت بوعده لا توبق

ـت بوعده لا توبق

Fear no destruction, for you

You still ascend the ranks of knowledge and elevation,

Fear not destruction, for by his promise

By his promise will not be destroyed.

Ever climbing higher.

You shall not be ruined.

لا زلت في درج المعا

لا زلت في درج المعا

رف والعلى تتسلق

رف والعلى تتسلق

May you ever, on the steps of learning

You are the true monotheist, so do not fear,

You continue to climb the steps of knowledge

And eminence, keep climbing.

The monotheist is successful.

And ascend towards the heights.

أنت الحنيف فلا تخف

أنت الحنيف فلا تخف

إن الحنيف موفق

إن الحنيف موفق

You are a true monotheist, so do not fear;

You are the true believer, so have no fear;

Indeed, the true monotheist is granted success.

Indeed, the true believer is granted success.
