For you are a father to its children.

وأنتand you قريباnear لهمto them وبعيداand far
وأنت قريبا لهم وبعيدا
وحياand living وميتاand dead لهمfor them قائدa leader
وحيا وميتا لهم قائد
And you, whether near them or far away,
Whether you are near to them or far away,
Whether living or dead, are their leader.
And alive or dead, you remain their leader.
نودعwe bid farewell فيكin you زعيماa leader وحيداpeerless
نودع فيك زعيما وحيدا
لناfor us مجدهhis glory طارفnewly acquired تالدancestral
لنا مجده طارف تالد
In you we bid farewell to a peerless leader;
In you, we bid farewell to a peerless chieftain,
His glory is ours, both newly won and ancestral.
Whose glory is ours, both fresh and ancient.
خلدتyou have become immortal جميلbeautiful الثناءpraise حميداpraiseworthy
خلدت جميل الثناء حميدا
ففيso in ذمةthe care of اللهGod ياO خالدKhalid!
ففي ذمة الله يا خالد!
You live on, nobly praised and worthy of praise;
You have immortalized beautiful praise, worthy of honor,
