If ever you seek glory for your homelands,

If ever you seek glory for the homelands,

then give your life freely and hasten to self-sacrifice.

وان حمل الخصوم عليك يوما

فقم لنضالهم وخض الدماء

فقم لنضالهم وخض الدماء

And if the foes charge against you one day,

And should the adversaries launch an attack upon you one day,

then rise to fight them and wade through blood.

Rise up to fight them and wade through the blood.

ألم تر (جعفرا) قطعت يداه

بحرب الروم فاحتضن اللواء

بحرب الروم فاحتضن اللواء

Did you not see Ja‘far, both his hands severed

Have you not seen Ja'far, when his hands were severed

in battle against the Romans, then clasp the banner?

In the war against the Romans, how he embraced the banner?

وقدم نفسه للموت سمحا

وقدم نفسه للموت سمحا

فنال بها الشهادة والثناء

فنال بها الشهادة والثناء

And he willingly offered himself to death,

He offered himself to death with a generous heart,

thereby attaining martyrdom and praise.

And thereby attained martyrdom and high praise.
