كالريحlike the wind هزتshook جانبthe side of العلمthe banner
She stirs my heart after its slumber,
It shakes my heart after its slumber
Like the wind that shook the edge of the banner.
Like the wind shook the side of the flag

كالفجرlike dawn يطرقknocks at حالكpitch-black الظلمdarkness
She treads softly through its recesses,
Our love walks through its aspects
Like dawn knocking at pitch-black darkness.
Like the dawn knocking on the darkness of your situation

She casts into it sparks from her fire,
It throws sparks of its fire upon it
And so rouses within it slumbering aspirations.
Igniting in it the embers of determination

قلبيmy heart رنينthe ringing of الهجرestrangement والسقمand sickness
And I heard from her, the day she knocked at
And I heard it when it knocked
My heart, the ringing of estrangement and sickness.
On my heart the echo of estrangement and illness

So she is like a spring overflowing with
It's as if it were a spring overflowing with
The pain held in the lovesick lover's heart.
What the heart of the young one contains of pain

And she brings back from my past what was seen
And it brings back from the past what
By my eyes—misery and blessings.
My eyes witnessed of misery and blessings

And she illuminates it after its darkness,
And it illuminates it after its darkness
As though she brings it to life from nothingness.
As if bringing it back from non-existence

And it is like a barren desert,
And it's as if it were a barren desert
Thirsting for drops of the fierce downpour.
Thirsty for a drop of ripe rain

And she is like a river that enfolded it
And it's as if it were a river covered
With bounty from its limpid waters—its virtues.
With generosity from a chain of decency

Or the garden of the past—there has sprung forth
Or the garden of the past that sprouted
From it, for my soul, the flower of nothingness.
From it for my soul the flower of nothingness
