I was named Miskin, and that was out of obstinacy;
I'm called a poor man, though my soul rebels,
And indeed I am a needy man, yearning for God.
Yet to God I'm a poor man who aspires,
وإِنّيand indeed I امرؤa man لاnot أَسأَلI ask الناسpeople مالهمtheir wealth

And I am a man who does not ask people for their wealth
I'm a man who seeks not what others own,
Through my poetry, nor are ways of earning obscure to me.
Through my poetry, nor wealth that blinds desires.
