فقد زاده الشوق الأسى فوق ضِعفِهِ
Stop, and ask about the plight of one like me and his weakness.
Stand and ask about the state of one like me, weak
For longing has more than doubled his sorrow.
For yearning has increased his sorrow over his weakness
وقولواand say لمنto the one whom أرجوI hope for الشفاءَhealing بوصلهthrough union with him
وقولوا لمن أرجو الشفاءَ بوصله
أسيركyour captive قدindeed أشفىhas drawn near علىto الموتdeath فاشفِهِso heal him
أسيرك قد أشفى على الموت فاشفِهِ
And tell the one through union with whom I hope for healing:
And say to her from whom I hope for cure through union
Your captive has reached the brink of death, so heal him.
Your captive is given up for dead, so cure him

He suffers from wasting sickness; hiding his love has hidden him,
Brother of Danaf, passion has made him waste away
Through emaciation—and whoever hides passion is hidden by it.
And he who hides his love, it hides him
