طالبَنيhe pressed me بالعتْبِfor reproach حتّىuntil إذاwhen
طالبَني بالعتْبِ حتّى إذا
عُوتبَhe was reproached ظَلَّcontinued العَتبُthe reproach يجفوto be harsh علِيهْon him
عُوتبَ ظَلَّ العَتبُ يجفو علِيهْ
He pressed me to reproach him, until, when
He blamed me repeatedly until when
he was reproached, reproach kept bearing harshly on him.
I was blamed, blame kept being held against me
فاليومَso today أشكُوهI complain of him إلىto مَنْwhom تُرَىI wonder
فاليومَ أشكُوه إلى مَنْ تُرَى
وكنتُand I used to أشكُوcomplain of الناسَthe people طُرّاًall إِليهْto him
وكنتُ أشكُو الناسَ طُرّاً إِليهْ
So today, to whom shall I complain of him, I wonder?
So today I complain about him to whom, I wonder
And I used to complain to him of everyone.
When I used to complain about people unjustly to him
