عدوُّها النورُ بل أضدادُها الظُّلَمُ

A white one, swimming in a green abyss,

White, she swims in a green sea.

Light is her enemy—rather, the darknesses are her opposites.

Her enemy is light—rather, her opposites are the shades of darkness.

لها من النور وجهٌ كلُّه نُقَطٌ

وغرَّةٌ كلُّها للناظرَين فمُ

She has a face of light, all speckled with dots,
