لَعَمرُكَby your life لاnot أَنسىI forget غَداةَon the morning of المُحَصِّبِal-Muhassib
لَعَمرُكَ لا أَنسى غَداةَ المُحَصِّبِ
إِشارَةَthe gesture of سَلمىSalma بِالبَنانِwith the fingertips المُخَضَّبِhenna-stained
إِشارَةَ سَلمى بِالبَنانِ المُخَضَّبِ
By your life, I shall not forget, that morning at al-Muhassib,
By your life! I shall not forget that morning of parting
Salma's gesture with her henna-stained fingertips,
Salma's sign with fingers dyed red
وَقَدand already صَدَرَdeparted الحُجّاجُthe pilgrims إِلّاexcept أَقَلَّهُمa few of them
وَقَد صَدَرَ الحُجّاجُ إِلّا أَقَلَّهُم
مَصادِرَroutes of departure شَتّىvarious مَوكِباًa procession بَعدَafter مَوكِبِa procession
مَصادِرَ شَتّى مَوكِباً بَعدَ مَوكِبِ
When the pilgrims had departed, save a few of them,
And the pilgrims had set out, all save a few
By different routes, procession after procession.
