لَقَدindeed فُقتَyou have surpassed اِبنَson of سالِمٍSalim البَراياall creation
لَقَد فُقتَ اِبنَ سالِمٍ البَرايا
بِماby what خُوِّلتَyou were granted مِنof قَدَرٍrank رَفيعِlofty
بِما خُوِّلتَ مِن قَدَرٍ رَفيعِ
Indeed, Ibn Salim, you have surpassed all creation,
You have surpassed the son of Salem in nobility
By the lofty rank bestowed upon you.
With what you have been endowed of sublime fate
حَسُنتَyou are beautiful فَكُنتَand so you became لَذّةَthe delight of كُلّevery عَينٍeye
حَسُنتَ فَكُنتَ لَذّةَ كُلّ عَينٍ
كَأَنَّكَas though you قَدindeed خُلِقتَwere created مِنfrom الهُجوعِslumber
كَأَنَّكَ قَد خُلِقتَ مِن الهُجوعِ
You are beautiful, and so have become the delight of every eye,
You have excelled, so you became the delight of all eyes
As though you had been created from slumber.
As if you were created from pure gold
