لا تُغضِبنّ الَّذي تَرميكَ أَسهُمُهُ

لا تُغضِبنّ الَّذي تَرميكَ أَسهُمُهُ

فَقَد جَعَلتَ لَهُ الإِعراضَ أَغراضا

فَقَد جَعَلتَ لَهُ الإِعراضَ أَغراضا

Do not anger the one whose arrows strike you;

For you have made your turning away into targets for him.

فَالماءُ وَالنارُ بَعضٌ مِن عَناصِرِهِ

فَالماءُ وَالنارُ بَعضٌ مِن عَناصِرِهِ

يَغلي إِذا اِتَقَدَت وَرُبّما فاضا

يَغلي إِذا اِتَقَدَت وَرُبّما فاضا

For water and fire are among his elements:

It boils when the fire blazes, and sometimes overflows.
