وَنُهودِ غِيدٍ كَالأَسِنّةِ أُشرِعَت

وَنُهودِ غِيدٍ كَالأَسِنّةِ أُشرِعَت

ما أُشرِعَت إِلّا لِحَمي قِطافها

And the breasts of graceful maidens were leveled like spearheads,

With the song of radiant morning awnings were spread

leveled only to guard their fruit.

Awnings spread only to reap their dewy harvest

إِن تُنكِرا قَتلي بِها فَتَأَمّلا

إِن تُنكِرا قَتلي بِها فَتَأَمّلا

تَجِدا دَمي قَد جَفَّ في أَطرافِها

تَجِدا دَمي قَد جَفَّ في أَطرافِها
