وَلَقَدand indeed قُلتُI said حِينَwhen قَبَّلتُI kissed مِنهُfrom him
مَبسَماًa smiling mouth مِثلَlike نَكهَةِthe fragrance of النَمّامِthe fragrant nammām herb
And indeed I said, when I kissed his
smiling mouth, like the scent of the nammām herb:
رَبِّmy Lord إِنif كانَis ذاthis حَراماًforbidden فَإِنّيthen indeed I
أَشتَهيI desire أَنthat تَخُصَّنيYou single me out بِالحَرامِwith the forbidden
“My Lord, if this is forbidden, then I
long for You to favor me with the forbidden.”
