سَلي عائِداتي كَيفَ أَبصَرنَ كُربَتي

سَلي عائِداتي كَيفَ أَبصَرنَ كُربَتي

فَإِن قُلتِ حابَينَني فَاِسأَلي الناسا

فَإِن قُلتِ حابَينَني فَاِسأَلي الناسا

Ask my female visitors how they saw my anguish.

Ask my friends how they saw my distress

And if you say, 'They were partial to me,' then ask the people.

If you say they deserted me, ask the people

فَإِن لَم يَقولا ماتَ أَو هُوَ مَيتٌ

فَإِن لَم يَقولا ماتَ أَو هُوَ مَيتٌ

فَزيدي إِذَن قَلبي جُنوناً وَوَسواسا

فَزيدي إِذَن قَلبي جُنوناً وَوَسواسا

And if neither says, 'He has died,' or 'He is dead,'

If they do not say he died or he is dead

Then increase my heart's madness and obsessive thoughts.

Then add more madness and obsession to my heart
