رَمَوْنيthey cast me فيinto نارِthe fire of الهوىlove فخزنتهاso I guarded it
رَمَوْني في نارِ الهوى فخزنتها
فسُمّيتso I was called ابراهيمIbrahim طوراًat times ومالكاand Malik
فسُمّيت ابراهيم طوراً ومالكا
They cast me into love’s fire, and I became its keeper.
They threw me into love's fire so I endured it
So I was called now Ibrahim, now Malik.
Thus I was named Abraham for a time, and Angel
فإنْso if نجواthey escaped منهاfrom it بطبعٍthrough natural constitution وعصمةٍand protection
فإنْ نجوا منها بطبعٍ وعصمةٍ
فإنيthen indeed I قدْindeed أصبحتُhave become حيَّاًalive وهالكاand perishing
فإني قدْ أصبحتُ حيَّاً وهالكا
If they escaped it through natural constitution and protection,
If they escaped it by nature and immunity
then I have indeed become both alive and perishing.
Then I have become alive and destroyed
