كواكبُ آياتٍ النبي زواهرُ

بها جُليت عنا الخطوب الحوالك

بها جُليت عنا الخطوب الحوالك

The stars of the Prophet’s signs are radiant;

The stars are signs of the Prophet, radiant jewels

through them, dark calamities were dispelled from us.

With them our tribulations were made clear to us

كواملُ أمثال البدور بنورها

كواملُ أمثال البدور بنورها

سلكنا فلم تظلم علينا المسالك

سلكنا فلم تظلم علينا المسالك

Perfect, like full moons; by their light

Perfect examples of moons in their light

we traveled, and the paths did not grow dark for us.

We walked and the paths were not dark to us

كوافٍ بانقاذ الغريق كوامل

كوافٍ بانقاذ الغريق كوامل

إذا ما أحاطت بالغريق المهالك

إذا ما أحاطت بالغريق المهالك

Sufficient to rescue the drowning, complete,

Completions saving the drowning completer

when deadly perils close around the drowning.

When disasters surround the drowning

كوالىء في دنيا وأخرى دلائل

كوالىء في دنيا وأخرى دلائل

إذا جارَ عن نهج الطريقة سالك

إذا جارَ عن نهج الطريقة سالك

Guardians in this world and the next, guiding signs

Loyal friends in this world and the next, evidence

when a wayfarer strays from the course of the path.

When the wayfarer strays from the path’s way

كواعبُ عَدنْ ينتظرن عصابة

كواعبُ عَدنْ ينتظرن عصابة

لهم في القصور العاليات ممالك

لهم في القصور العاليات ممالك

The full-breasted maidens of Eden await a company

Maidens of Eden await a band

who have kingdoms in the lofty palaces.

For them in the lofty palaces are kingdoms

كوانسُ في الجنات حور أوانس

كوانسُ في الجنات حور أوانس

تدافع عنهن النهود الفوالك

تدافع عنهن النهود الفوالك

Secluded in the gardens are fair-eyed, companionable maidens;

Companions in the Gardens, houri companions

their rounded breasts defend them.

The swelling breasts defend them

كوافلُ أرواح تروح إلى الرضى

كوافلُ أرواح تروح إلى الرضى

ومن دون رضوان لمن خاب مالك

ومن دون رضوان لمن خاب مالك

Guardians of souls that journey toward divine favor,

Completions of spirits that go to acceptance

and those who fail have Malik instead of Ridwan.

And without acceptance, for one who fails no owner

كواني شوقي نحو قبر محمد

كواني شوقي نحو قبر محمد

فمالي سوى هذا القريض مآلك

فمالي سوى هذا القريض مآلك

My longing for Muhammad’s grave has seared me,

My longing towards the grave of Muhammed

so I have no messages but this verse.

So I have none but this poem, my possessions

كواملُ لوعاتي ظهرن بأدمعي

كواملُ لوعاتي ظهرن بأدمعي

وباح بوجدي قلبيَ المتهالك

وباح بوجدي قلبيَ المتهالك

My burning pangs appeared in their fullness through my tears,

Perfections of my agonies appeared with my tears

and my languishing heart spoke openly of my longing.

And my heart's torment spilled out, unraveling

كوائنُ هذا الدهر ثبطن مالكا

كوائنُ هذا الدهر ثبطن مالكا

فما مالك حيٌ ولا هو مالك

فما مالك حيٌ ولا هو مالك

The vicissitudes of this age have held Malik back,

Entities of this age discourage possessor

so Malik is neither alive nor a master.

So no possessor is alive, nor does he own
