So they stipulated many conditions for me

That I was not able in my state to consent to

Then I left when I realized

That I had tied the strongest knot around my neck for her

Then I heard an unknown sound from my left

And a cough that imitates the croaking of frogs

So I wanted to escape with myself fleeing

And I leapt at the door, a leap of dread

But I met them as they had brought an ember

They returned me and imprisoned me with mosques

So sit here with her until the seventh day”

“And congratulations for the blessing which you have attained

You have certainly obtained blooming gardens”

So I looked at my fiancée closely

And I found her veiled with coverings

And I approached her wanting to remove her veil

But she defended herself seriously and prevented me

So I overpowered her and uncovered

Her brow by force like a wrestling champion

And I found her light-skinned, as if she is

Struck on her head with a bludgeon

“Drum” or a mallet is brought to her

Mute - if she wants to speak she bellows

The bellowing of a billy goat toward its milking nanny

Lame - if she stands she remedies her walk

You would see the walk of a limping or blinker

So I faced her and started spitting at her

And fleeing into darkness and pouring rain

Lost, running in the alley as if I were

By God, after that I want no knowledge of her affair

Nor of the matters of my lost household
