الحسنُ معذب كلَّ قلب
اللّهGod قضىdecreed بهconcerning it فحسبيso enough for me
اللّه قضى به فحسبي
Beauty torments every heart.
Beauty afflicts all hearts
God decreed it, so that is enough for me.
So has God ordained it
عنconcerning ملاميreproaching me
عن ملامي
كانَwas قبلَbefore الملامthe reproach حُبّيmy love
كانَ قبلَ الملام حُبّي
As for reproaching me,
Heed not the critics
My love came before the reproach.
For before criticism, there was love
