وَرَبعِيٍّand many a spring-born camel calf نَحَرتُI slaughtered عَلىnursed by ثَلاثٍthree she-camels
وَرَبعِيٍّ نَحَرتُ عَلى ثَلاثٍ
لِحَمدِfor the praise of ثَلاثَةٍthree men مِنfrom بَعدِafter حينِa time
لِحَمدِ ثَلاثَةٍ مِن بَعدِ حينِ
And many a spring-born camel calf, nursed by three she-camels, I slaughtered,
Amidst cares I slew for our three friends
To earn the praise of three men after a time.
In celebration, after some time had passed
فَراحواso they departed حامِدينَpraising وَرُحنَand they (the she-camels) departed بُحّاًhoarse
فَراحوا حامِدينَ وَرُحنَ بُحّاً
فَلَso not أَحفِلI pay heed لِهَرُهَرَةِto the throaty rumbling of الحَنينِthe mournful cries
فَلَ أَحفِل لِهَرُهَرَةِ الحَنينِ
So they departed praising me, while the she-camels departed hoarse;
They left, praising, and easing woes
So I pay no heed to the throaty rumbling of their mournful cries.
So I heed not the prattle of pining
