وَما كانَ مِن عُثمانَ شَيء عَلِمته

وَما كانَ مِن عُثمانَ شَيء عَلِمته

سِوى نَسله في عقبه حينَ أَدبرا

سِوى نَسله في عقبه حينَ أَدبرا

And I knew of nothing from Uthman

I knew nothing wrong of Othman,

Except his swift running at his heels when he turned away.

Save that his offspring, when he perished, were corrupt.
