An autumnal north wind blew, shedding leaves.
The north wind blew, autumn fell and shed leaves,
And the wormwood on the plain turned yellow after being green.
Turning the meadows yellow after the greenery faded.

ثَلجاً تُصَفِّفُه بِالترمِذ الريحُ
So depart—may you be guided—and do not turn our spoils
So depart with your gifts, do not make our bounty
into snow that the wind piles up in Tirmidh.
Snow that the biting cold wind sweeps away.

Indeed, winter is an enemy we do not fight.
Winter is an enemy we do not fight.
So depart—may you be guided—while the garment of warmth lies cast aside.
So depart with your gifts, the warm coat discarded.
