لمdid not تعرفِknow الدّنياthe world كحُبِّlike the love of محمدٍMuhammad
لم تعرفِ الدّنيا كحُبِّ محمدٍ
حُباًa love تجاوزَsurpassed فيin تساميهِits sublimity المدىthe limit
حُباً تجاوزَ في تساميهِ المدى
The world has never known a love like the love of Muhammad,
The world has not known a love like the love of Muhammad
A love that, in its sublimity, has surpassed all bounds.
A love that transcended in its sublimity all bounds
مَنwhoever لمdid not يذُقtaste فيin العُمرِlife لذّةَthe delight of حُبهِhis love
مَن لم يذُق في العُمرِ لذّةَ حُبهِ
أنّاhow لهُfor him يلقىfind لِحُبٍfor love مَورِداa wellspring
أنّا لهُ يلقى لِحُبٍ مَورِدا
Whoever has not tasted in life the delight of his love—
Whoever has not tasted in life the sweetness of his love
How can he find a wellspring of love?
Will find for a love like his, ever a yearning to slake
ياربّO Lord أسعِدناgladden us برؤيةِwith the sight of وجههِhis face
ياربّ أسعِدنا برؤيةِ وجههِ
فالشوقُfor longing زادَincreased معwith الحياةِlife توقُّداin ardor
فالشوقُ زادَ مع الحياةِ توقُّدا
O Lord, gladden us with the sight of his face,
My Lord, make us happy with the sight of his face
For longing has grown more ardent as life goes on.
For longing with life has only gained in its fervor
صلّىmay He send blessings عليكَupon you إِلهُناour God ماas long as أشرَقتْrose
صلّى عليكَ إِلهُنا ما أشرَقتْ
شمسٌa sun وماand as long as لبّىanswered المُصلّونthe worshippers النداthe call
شمسٌ وما لبّى المُصلّون الندا
May our God bless you as long as there rises
Blessings on you from our God for as long as shines
A sun, and as long as worshippers answer the call.
The sun and worshipers answer aloud to prayer's call
