وهو الذي بالهجرِ قد آذاها
How I marvel at her—she yearned for him and for his voice.
My wonder - she yearned for him and his voice
Yet he is the one who hurt her by abandoning her.
When he's the one whose abandonment pained her
زمَنٌan age بهِin it تشقىsuffer القلوبُthe hearts بصِدقِهاbecause of their sincerity
زمَنٌ بهِ تشقى القلوبُ بصِدقِها
ياoh ليتهاif only she تنسىwould forget الذيthe one who أشقاهاmade her miserable
يا ليتها تنسى الذي أشقاها
An age in which hearts suffer for their sincerity.
An era where hearts suffer in their truth
Oh, if only she would forget the one who made her miserable.
