لقَد كانَ في يَوم النِّباجِ وثَيتَلٍ

لقَد كانَ في يَوم النِّباجِ وثَيتَلٍ

وشَطفٍ وأَيَّامٍ تدارَكن مَجزَعُ

وشَطفٍ وأَيَّامٍ تدارَكن مَجزَعُ

There was indeed, on the day of al-Nibāj and Thaytal,

Indeed it was in the day of al-Nibaj and Tha'ital

and Shaṭf, and days that followed one another, cause for anguish.

And Shatf and days that unfold with might
