أَلائِمَتِيO my reproacher كُفِّيcease الْمَلامَthe blame عَنconcerning الَّذِيthat which
أَلائِمَتِي كُفِّي الْمَلامَ عَن الَّذِي
أُحَاوِلُهُI seek to undertake it مِنْof رِحْلَةٍa journey وَسِفَارِand travel
أُحَاوِلُهُ مِنْ رِحْلَةٍ وَسِفَارِ
O my reproacher, cease your blame for what
My critic, cease your blame of one
I seek to undertake in journeying and travel.
Who dares attempt a journey and sojourn.
فَلَوْلاfor were it not for سُرَىnight journey الْبَدْرِthe full moon الْمُنِيرِthe radiant لَعَاقَهُwould surely hinder it
فَلَوْلا سُرَى الْبَدْرِ الْمُنِيرِ لَعَاقَهُ
عَنِfrom التِّمِّfullness لُبْثٌlingering فِيin مَغِيبِconcealment سِرَارِthe moon’s dark phase
عَنِ التِّمِّ لُبْثٌ فِي مَغِيبِ سِرَارِ
For without the radiant full moon’s night journey, it would be held back
For were it not the radiant full moon's rise
From fullness by lingering hidden in its dark phase.
Delays would overcome his quest for secrets.
