مَوَدَّتَهُمْ فَالْحِلْمُ لِلشَّرِّ يَرْحَضُ
Endear yourself to your brethren through forbearance, and you will gain
Befriend the brothers with forbearance, seize
their affection; for forbearance washes evil away.
Their affection, as forbearance subdues harm.
فَإِنَّfor indeed قَرِينَa companion السُّوءِof evil مَاso long as لَمْnot تُجَازِهِyou repay him

For a bad companion, so long as you do not repay him
For the companion of evil, unless you requite
in kind for his deeds, will come running to you with an apology.
Him for his acts, will run to you with excuses.
