Sol 6.1

  1. أَفَتَّانَةَ الْعَينَيْنِ كُفِّي عَنِ الْقَلْبِ

    وَصُونِي حِمَاهُ فَهُوَ مَنْزِلَةُ الْحُبِّ

    O you with bewitching eyes, spare my heart.

    And guard its sanctuary, for it is the dwelling place of love.

  2. ولا تُسْلِمِي عَيْنَيَّ للسُّهْدِ والْبُكَا

    فَإِنَّهُمَا مَجْرَى هَواكِ إِلَى قَلْبِي

    And do not consign my eyes to sleeplessness and weeping,

    For they are the channel through which love for you flows to my heart.

  3. وَإِنِّي لَراضٍ مِنْ هَواكِ بِنَظْرَةٍ

    وَحَسْبِي بِها إِنْ أَنْتِ لم تَبْخَلِي حَسْبي

    And in loving you, I am indeed content with a glance.

    And that is enough for me—if you do not withhold it—enough for me.

  4. إِذا كانَ ذَنْبِي أَنَّ قَلْبِي مُعَلَّقٌ

    بِحُبِّكِ يا لَيْلَى فَلا تَغْفِرِي ذَنْبِي

    If my sin is that my heart is bound

    By love for you, O Layla, then do not forgive my sin.
