أَلاHark! قُلْsay لِقَوْمٍto a people شَامِتِينَgloating over misfortune تَرَبَّصواawait, all of you
تَهَزُّمَthunderous rumbling شَرٍّan evil بِالْمَنِيَّةwith death كارِثِruinous
Hark—tell a gloating people: await
Hark, tell the gloating people: await
the crushing assault of a calamitous evil, bringing death.
The rumbling of a ruinous, death-dealing evil.
أَرَىI see سِتْرَveil خَطْبٍa calamity قَدْalready تَرَفَّعَhas lifted وانْبَرَتْand came forth

I see the veil over a dire affair has risen; and there emerge,
I see a calamity’s veil already lifted, and there have emerged
looming before them from beyond it, the faces of calamities.
The faces of disasters, looming before them from it.
