And a night agleam with the cup’s radiance—

In it, through revelry, I fulfilled every wish.

I kept it alive after the carefree one had fallen asleep that night,

With a lovely maiden—had the sun seen her, it would not have shone.

So had you observed me while the cup went round,

You would have thought me a king, strutting with delight.

And how could my station not reach the celestial spheres,

When the full moon is in my gathering and the sun in my goblet?
