وَلَمَّاand when اسْتَقَلَّset out الْحَيُّthe clan فِيin رَوْنَقِthe splendor of الضُّحَىmidmorning
وَلَمَّا اسْتَقَلَّ الْحَيُّ فِي رَوْنَقِ الضُّحَى
وَقَطَّعَand cut off أَنْفَاسَthe breaths of الْمُقِيمِthe one who stayed الْمُسَافِرُthe traveler
وَقَطَّعَ أَنْفَاسَ الْمُقِيمِ الْمُسَافِرُ
And when the clan set out in the radiance of morning,
And when the clan set out in the splendor of midmorning,
and the traveler cut off the breath of the one left behind,
and the traveler left the one who stayed behind breathless,
تَحَوَّلَmoved away رَاعِيthe shepherd of الصَّبْرِpatience عَنْfrom مُسْتَقَرِّهِhis resting place
تَحَوَّلَ رَاعِي الصَّبْرِ عَنْ مُسْتَقَرِّهِ
وَبَاحَتْand spoke openly بِأَسْرَارِof the secrets of الْقُلُوبِthe hearts النَّوَاظِرُthe eyes
وَبَاحَتْ بِأَسْرَارِ الْقُلُوبِ النَّوَاظِرُ
the guardian of patience forsook his resting place,
the shepherd of patience left his resting place,
and the eyes divulged the secrets of hearts.
and eyes revealed the secrets of hearts.
