Abandon fear, and know that the one who harbors it,
Leave fear behind, and know that he who harbors it
Even if he fortifies himself, cannot escape treacherous attacks.
Though he may build a fortress, cannot escape his fate.

If a man had knowledge by which to discern
If man could know the future by signs along the way,
The outcomes, he would not rely on stratagems.
He would not walk the winding paths or be led astray.
