حِمَى الصادقِ القصرُ السعيدُ وَحِرزهُ

حِمَى الصادقِ القصرُ السعيدُ وَحِرزهُ

وَمَأمنهُ مِن كلّ ما يستفزّهُ

وَمَأمنهُ مِن كلّ ما يستفزّهُ

The happy palace is al-Sadiq’s sanctuary and his stronghold,

The palace of the truthful protector, the happy palace and its refuge

And his safe haven from everything that unsettles him.

And its shelter from all that provokes it

بِتَعميرهِ يُتبي وَعمرانُ ملكهِ

بِتَعميرهِ يُتبي وَعمرانُ ملكهِ

وَإِحرازهُ النصرَ المخلّد عزّهُ

وَإِحرازهُ النصرَ المخلّد عزّهُ

It [apparently foretells] his long life and the flourishing of his reign,

Its construction makes his life and kingdom prosper

And his winning the victory that perpetuates his glory.

And preserving it, the lasting victory that glorifies his might

أَقامَ بهِ مِن قبلُ والدهُ الرضى

أَقامَ بهِ مِن قبلُ والدهُ الرضى

جِداراً ومكنونُ السعادةِ كنزهُ

جِداراً ومكنونُ السعادةِ كنزهُ

His esteemed father had earlier erected there

Built there before by his father Al-Ridha

A wall; the hidden store of happiness was its treasure.

As a wall and treasury of hidden bliss

وَأَخفى حُلاها في طلسمٍ من اِسمه

وَأَخفى حُلاها في طلسمٍ من اِسمه

يُشيرُ لبرٍّ طالَ إن فكّ رمزهُ

يُشيرُ لبرٍّ طالَ إن فكّ رمزهُ

And concealed its ornaments in a talisman formed from his name,

And he concealed its solution in a talisman with his name

Pointing to enduring goodness, if its cipher is unraveled.

That hints at abundant kindness if its code is unraveled

فَمُذ شيّدَ القصرُ السعيدُ وأشرقت

فَمُذ شيّدَ القصرُ السعيدُ وأشرقت

سَعادَتهُ زالَ الخفاء ونبزهُ

سَعادَتهُ زالَ الخفاء ونبزهُ

So, when the happy palace was built and shone forth

Since the happy palace was built and its bliss shone

Its happiness, concealment vanished; it was named

The secrecy was removed and its prominence emerged

وَألبسهُ وسماً وَنعتاً شعاره

وَألبسهُ وسماً وَنعتاً شعاره

مَنِ اِشتقَّ مِن صدقٍ خفاهُ وبرزهُ

مَنِ اِشتقَّ مِن صدقٍ خفاهُ وبرزهُ

And clothed in a mark and an epithet—his emblem—

And he clothed it with a mark and description, its motto

By him who drew his inward and outward being from truthfulness.

Derived from the sincerity he hid then disclosed

فَما هوَ إلّا معدنٌ لسعادةٍ

فَما هوَ إلّا معدنٌ لسعادةٍ

تَخلّصَ للملكِ السعيدِ فلزّهُ

تَخلّصَ للملكِ السعيدِ فلزّهُ

For it is nothing but a mine of happiness,

It is but a mine of happiness

Its metal purified for the fortunate king.

Extracted for the happy king so it became his ingot

تَجدّدَ فيهِ واِعتلى جدّ ملكهِ

تَجدّدَ فيهِ واِعتلى جدّ ملكهِ

وَنقّيَ مِن نقعِ الوقائعِ بزّهُ

وَنقّيَ مِن نقعِ الوقائعِ بزّهُ

In it, the fortune of his reign was renewed and rose high,

In it his rule was renewed and the glory of his kingdom exalted

And his raiment was cleansed of the dust of battles.

And purified from the tarnish of events by his ingot

وَمُذ حلّ بِالشهرِ الحرامِ بأوجهٍ

وَمُذ حلّ بِالشهرِ الحرامِ بأوجهٍ

غدا حرماً لا صرف دهر يبزّهُ

غدا حرماً لا صرف دهر يبزّهُ

And since he settled in the sacred month, in several respects

And since it was filled in the sacred month with manifestations

It became a sanctuary no turn of time can despoil.

It became a sanctuary time cannot desecrate

وَفي كونِهِ ما بينَ عيدينِ آيةٌ

وَفي كونِهِ ما بينَ عيدينِ آيةٌ

لأنّ التهاني مُبتداه ونجزهُ

لأنّ التهاني مُبتداه ونجزهُ

And its being between two feasts is a sign,

And in its existence between two Eids is a sign

For felicitations are its beginning and its completion.

For congratulations are its beginning and achievement

فَلا زالَ يَحميه فيُدعى مؤرّخاً

فَلا زالَ يَحميه فيُدعى مؤرّخاً

حِمى الصادق القصرُ السعيد وحرزهُ

حِمى الصادق القصرُ السعيد وحرزهُ

May it never cease to protect him, and so be called in a chronogram:

So it remains protected, thus called a chronicler
