أَتَتنيshe came to me الغزالةُthe gazelle قبلَbefore الزوالِnoon

The gazelle came to me before noon,
The gazelle came to me before noon
Hoping for my departure from this place.

لَئِنif indeed كنتَyou were مِنfrom حرّهاher heat سالماًunharmed
فَقَدthen indeed أقصَدتshe mortally struck مُهجتيmy heart بنبالِwith arrows
Even if you are safe from her heat,
If you have been spared her heat
She has indeed slain my heart with arrows.
Her arrows have pierced my heart
