قَدalready أكثَبَتhave drawn near فرصُopportunities for الجميلِkindness فبادرِso hasten
قَد أكثَبَت فرصُ الجميلِ فبادرِ
وَاِنهضand rise لَهاto meet them نَهضthe rising of الهزبرِthe lion الخادرِdwelling in its lair
وَاِنهض لَها نَهض الهزبرِ الخادرِ
Opportunities for kindness have drawn near, so hasten.
Opportunities for goodness abound, so seize them!
And rise to meet them as a lion rises from its lair.
Rise for them with the vigor of a lively young man.
وَاِبسطand extend يَدthe hand of الإحسانِkindness مُغتنماًseizing the opportunity بِهاthrough it
وَاِبسط يَد الإحسانِ مُغتنماً بِها
غَرسplanting الصنائعِbenefactions فيin فؤادthe heart of شاكرِa grateful person
غَرس الصنائعِ في فؤاد شاكرِ
And extend the hand of kindness, seizing the chance thereby
Extend the hand of kindness, making the most of them,
To plant benefactions in a grateful heart.
Planting the fruits of virtue in a grateful heart.
وتُغالُand spend lavishly فيin اِسترقاقenslaving حرّa free man لَمnot يسمbe branded
وتُغالُ في اِسترقاق حرّ لَم يسم
بِالغبنِas cheated قانيهthe one who acquires him بِوفرٍwith riches وافرِabundant
بِالغبنِ قانيه بِوفرٍ وافرِ
And spend lavishly to make a free man your bondsman; never is
Be lavish in freeing a free man who never bore
His purchaser branded as cheated, even for an abundant fortune.
The stain of dishonor, with bounty aplenty.
اِبذلbestow لهon him مِنfrom فضلthe bounty of جاهكَyour influence لفتةًa glance of regard
اِبذل له مِن فضل جاهكَ لفتةً
تَرنوgaze لهُtoward him منهاthrough it السعودُthe auspicious stars بناظرِwith an eye
تَرنو لهُ منها السعودُ بناظرِ
Bestow on him, from the bounty of your influence, a glance
Grant him from your abundant favor a gesture
Through which auspicious stars turn their gaze toward him.
That in his eyes reflects aspirations fulfilled.
وَالعرفand beneficence أفضَلُthe best of ماwhat اِقتنيتyou have acquired وَخيرهُand its best
وَالعرف أفضَلُ ما اِقتنيت وَخيرهُ
ماthat which سدّmeets خلّةَthe need of مستحقٍّa deserving person صابرِpatient
ما سدّ خلّةَ مستحقٍّ صابرِ
And beneficence is the best you have acquired, and its finest form
The finest thing I own is courtesy, and its best
Is what meets the need of one deserving and patient.
Is to mend the rift of a patient worthy soul.
إنّيindeed, I بَعَثتكhave roused you لِلمَكارمِto noble deeds والندىand generosity
إنّي بَعَثتك لِلمَكارمِ والندى
بَعثَthe rousing of البحارِthe seas لمدّfor the surge of موجٍwaves زاخرِsurging
بَعثَ البحارِ لمدّ موجٍ زاخرِ
Indeed, I have roused you to noble deeds and generosity,
I made you for noble deeds and high principles,
As seas are roused to swell with surging waves.
As I made the sea to surge with waves ever rich.
وَأَقمتُand I remained أَنتَظِرawaiting الإجابةَthe answer زاجراًdivining bird-omens
وَأَقمتُ أَنتَظِر الإجابةَ زاجراً
مِنهاfrom it لِنجحِfor the success of السعيِthe endeavor أيمنthe most auspicious طائرِbird
مِنها لِنجحِ السعيِ أيمن طائرِ
And I have remained awaiting the answer, divining
And I stand by, anticipating the right answer that will
From it the most auspicious bird for the endeavor's success.
Guarantee success for this endeavor, auspiciously.
