O paper, take pride and boast when

You clasp the palm of Qasim ibn Maʿad.

And know that you have plunged into a surging sea,

At whose shore the hopes of the generous have halted.

And kiss its fingertips, for they are streams

Whose unceasing flood cannot be checked.

And convey to him the greetings of a yearning lover,

Who prays for his happiness and right guidance.
