    O my two visitors on Monday evening,

    You have paid me the debt of yesterday's promise.

    فَلي الهناءُ بِزورةِ الإثنينِ

    You brought me to life when you greeted me;

    Mine, then, is the joy of a visit from you two.

    You came at the dark of the moon, so we might sip

    The cup of joy where the two moons meet.

    So I sipped it, a drinking companion to the two Farqad stars—

    A cup that came to bestow two favors upon me:

    Offering my sense of smell a fragrant breath from Tayyib,

    And, through Bashir, revealing gladness to the eye.
