لاthere is no مِثلَequal للمُصطفىto Mustafa فيin سائرِall الدولِthe realms
لا مِثلَ للمُصطفى في سائرِ الدولِ
وَزيرُminister آلِthe House of حسينHusayn السائرِwidely circulated المثلِexample
وَزيرُ آلِ حسين السائرِ المثلِ
Mustafa has no equal in all the realms,
The Chosen One is unmatched among all nations
Minister of the House of Husayn, whose example is widely cited;
Minister of the Family of Hussein, the exemplar
الصاعدُwho ascends العقبةَthe mountain pass النّجلاthe broad one بنظرتهِwith his insight
الصاعدُ العقبةَ النّجلا بنظرتهِ
فيin مُبهمperplexing الخطبِthe crisis أَوor فيin الحادثthe event الجللِthe grave one
في مُبهم الخطبِ أَو في الحادث الجللِ
Who scales the broad mountain pass with his insight,
Who ascends tribulations with his gaze
In a perplexing crisis or a grave event;
In the gloom of calamities or in formidable events
وَالمُرتضيand who accepts الأمرthe task بالرفقِwith gentleness الكفيلِthat guarantees لهُfor him
وَالمُرتضي الأمر بالرفقِ الكفيلِ لهُ
بِالأمنِwith safety مِنfrom غيرهِothers besides him والحفظِand protection منfrom خللِerror
بِالأمنِ مِن غيرهِ والحفظِ من خللِ
And who accepts the task with gentleness that assures him
And Al-Murtada whose gentle command
Safety from others and protection from error;
Grants security without equal and protection from defects
الكاتمwho conceals السرّthe secret حتّىeven عَنfrom ضمائرهِhis innermost thoughts
الكاتم السرّ حتّى عَن ضمائرهِ
وَالكاشفُand who reveals الغيبَthe unseen عَنthrough ظنّconjecture بلاwithout مهلِdelay
وَالكاشفُ الغيبَ عَن ظنّ بلا مهلِ
Who hides the secret even from his innermost thoughts,
Who conceals secrets even from his own thoughts
And reveals the unseen through conjecture, without delay;
And reveals the unseen beyond any conjecture
المُحرزُwho attains المجدَglory عَنthrough جدٍّearnest effort يجرّhe trails بهِwith it
المُحرزُ المجدَ عَن جدٍّ يجرّ بهِ
نِجادَthe baldric of نجدتهhis valor لاnot ذيلَthe train of محتفلِa celebrant
نِجادَ نجدته لا ذيلَ محتفلِ
Who wins glory through earnest effort, thereby trailing
Who preserves glory from ancestry that pulls him
His valor’s baldric, not a celebrant’s train;
With aid from his generosity, not by pretense
وَالمُنتضيand who unsheathes كلّevery عضبٍkeen blade مِنfrom حفيظتهِhis protective zeal
وَالمُنتضي كلّ عضبٍ مِن حفيظتهِ
بِسابقwith prior الهمّresolve للإِعراضfor turning away لاnot العذلِreproach
بِسابق الهمّ للإِعراض لا العذلِ
And draws every keen blade from his protective zeal,
And who suppresses any anger from his wrath
With forethought for turning away, not reproach;
With the priority of care over negligence
وَالباعثُand who sends forth العزمresolve جيشاًas an army منfrom شهامتهِhis gallantry
وَالباعثُ العزم جيشاً من شهامتهِ
إِذwhen لاno مساغَpassage لجيشِfor an army of البيضbright swords والأسلِand spears
إِذ لا مساغَ لجيشِ البيض والأسلِ
And sends resolve forth as an army of his gallantry,
Who rouses determination, an army of his valor
When an army of bright swords and spears has no way through;
As there is no tolerance for an army of whites and browns
تَرميassails عيونthe eyes of ذَويthose possessing الشحناrancor بديهتهُhis ready wit
تَرمي عيون ذَوي الشحنا بديهتهُ
بِغيهبٍwith deep darkness وَسراياهمand their detachments بمحتفلِwith a massed host
بِغيهبٍ وَسراياهم بمحتفلِ
His ready wit assails the eyes of the rancorous
Eyes of the hostile glance at his intuition
With deep darkness, and their detachments with a massed host;
With ignorance, while his horsemen are arrayed
فَليسَso it is not للنجمِfor the star أنto يحميprotect مناوئهhis adversary
فَليسَ للنجمِ أن يحمي مناوئه
وَليسَand does not ينشطُbreak free منwhoever جاراهvies with him منfrom عقلِfetters
وَليسَ ينشطُ من جاراه من عقلِ
So the star cannot protect his adversary,
No star can protect its adversary
Nor can anyone who vies with him break free of fetters.
Nor can the rational gain vigor alongside him
