وُجوهٌ لا تزالُ تضيءُ حسناً

وُجوهٌ لا تزالُ تضيءُ حسناً

وَيقبحُ عندَ مُبصِرها الملامُ

وَيقبحُ عندَ مُبصِرها الملامُ

Faces that never cease to glow with beauty,

Faces never cease to shine with beauty,

and in their beholder’s eyes, reproach seems ugly.

And reproach seems ugly to whoever beholds them.

وَيعترفُ الورى أَن ليسَ إلّا

وَيعترفُ الورى أَن ليسَ إلّا

لِمثلِ جمالِها خُلِقَ الغرامُ

لِمثلِ جمالِها خُلِقَ الغرامُ

All humankind confesses that it was only

And mankind acknowledges that only

for beauty such as hers that passionate love was born.

For beauty like theirs was love created.
