His glances unsheathed the Indian-steel sword of his stature.

Take my heart, if you will sheathe that sword within it.

A young gazelle, to whom I say, ‘May I be your ransom, enchanter!’

Time breathed through his lips upon his knots.

Then Moses, in his eyelids, tells me: ‘Indeed,

I have seen a fire in the sanctuary of his cheek.’

Indeed, when I see his face, I behold

A full moon that lights the gloom of his turning away.

And in his eye, his eyebrows, and his temple

Is the name of the one who won hearts with his love.
